In modern eras, the tools used to deliver those skills to the students varies based on needs. Facilities like computers, laboratories, and gadgets are normally use nowadays to bring particular activities related to the subjects. The use of books is still commonly used but the intensity is so far decreased compared to several years ago.
Those sophisticated hardware mentioned before can produce plenty of useful activities for students and help them master the skills. For example, students can learn the importance of preserving sustainable environment when they attend biology class through watching a film. Mathematic can be more fun if we learn geometry through challenging games done in computers.
There are no significant pros and cons of utilizing modern facilities instead of books as long as we used them wisely to reach the goals. Some consequences are inevitably exist: distractions, effect of screen-time to the eye, addictions, and so on. Those problems can be prevented by some anticipations: using anti-ultraviolet glasses, limitation by automatic timer, and locking applications which potentially distract the learning process.
However, the use of books is still relevant for some people: book is more than just reading activity, it brings joy and serenity. Either books and computers are critical to be part of students' learning process at school, but later in the future, most of work and profession acquire the competency of operating modern technology, and computer is no exception.
