There has been a heated debate on the issue of famine. While many hold a view that educating is a promising solution to the problem, others argue that food subsidies is the key. This essay will provide supporting ideas to both arguements before the final opinion is given.
Support in food from other parts of the world is an actionable plan for many people. First, food aid is a fast and practical way to deal with famine when most needed. If the affected community is provided with enough food, hunger in that area can be solved just like that. Secondly, subsidies often come in packages, meaning that if food aid is provided, there is a high chance that aids relating to health or finance can also be available. Therefore, it is said that we should focus on food aid to deal with world hunger.
At the same time, it is believed that teaching and awareness can solve worldwide hunger for many reasons and I share the same view. Firstly, education is the most sustainable way to spread awareness to the citizen, especially those not from the third world. Once people have a fair understanding of famine and its consequences, they can raise their opinion about the issue and ask their government to pay more consistent attention to it. Secondly, education is the way out for people who are actually experiencing hunger. In third world nations or war zones, teaching and learning are well-neglected and can be seen as the reason why people are stuck in the situation. If young people are schooled properly and funded to study abroad, they can escape this reality.
While many people believe that food subsidies are the resolution for world famine, I and others hold our believe that education is a more prominent one. Education can solve what food aid has been unable to, which is consistent help. As long as awareness is well spred in a country, its government can not ignore it and is forced to provide respective action plans.
