The commonality of working from home utilizing technology nowadays offer both positive and negative sides. While some people think that it is more efficient, the other argue that it does not give the real experience of working in certain field of profession.
Looking at the bright side, working from home could increase time efficiency. People can right away start their work on the appointed time even without going anywhere. Which bring to another benefit point that is cost saving. People do not need to spend money to take public transportation or gas to fuel their private vehicles to go to a physical office building. Looking at it from the psychological point of view, working from home could reduce peer pressure which enable people to become more focus and produce original work. Talking about peers at work, working from home can promote inclusion since people who have disability would still be able to make the same contribution to our community. Finally, let us not forget about the use of technology part in making this process available. With that, people become more familiar with technology.
Moving on to the downsides of it, while working at home can reduce the amount of time taken to transport to the physical office building, it does not help with passive lifestyle that some people already possess. For example, by going to work people will at least walk for a few meters compared to just changing to shirts then sitting in front of a computer at home. Moving on to the social perspective, working from home could reduce the chance of social interaction, which professionally could hurt employees productivity due to the lack of competition and personally making people at risk for stress due to loneliness. Another negative point about working from home is how there are so many things that could distract peoples' focus on their work, making their work less professional.
