In my opinion for consumers, its not really an disadvantages rather than advantages. Its because for consumers its easier for them to find a products that they wants, since logically the large supermarkets will provide more products. And it could be only one stop by grocery shopping since they can basically finds their needs on the list. Especially when they said its many there will be more access to the nearest big supermarket that the consumer can attend so it'll be more beneficial than the small store.
But for the small shops i think its gonna be more disadvantages rather than the advantages, since theres gonna be more business rivals. Especially from the consumer point of view they will think that why would they want to shop in a small store that most of their needs isn't there, its not efficient for their time and its gonna cause a lot more gas money. Although since its a big supermarket most of the product price its probably will be more expensive because they need to pay more taxes to the building and they need to get more profits to have return of investments. Not to mention they will also need to have more staffs in the store. So there will still more people to come to the small shops just to get the same product but more cheaper.
Also for the last points the small shops it-selves could still have more advantages to it, if they specialized in this one product brand or types of item they sell. For examples asian market, they may not as big as a regular supermarket such as target or wallmart but they still have the product that the specific consumers are searching; Chinese oyster sauce, instant ramen, and spices. Those are the specific products that you cant really find in a big supermarket if you live in a certain country or continent.
So the conclusion is we cant really say that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages because it depends on what situation and what point of view we see but with my arguments and explanations it more likely to agree with the topics.
