The urgency of preserving sustainable environment raise awareness of people in society to give contribution. Every part of the community has particular role: government create regulations, large corporations follow them, scientists and engineers make innovations, non-profit organizations educate people, and so on. Regardless of age and profession, every person can make a little change to save the earth natural resources, and it begins from individuals.
While the government and large corporations do higher level of tasks regarding the attempts to preserve the Earth's natural resources such as manage a waste-treatment system in a country, there are some programs we possibly do as individuals. One among them is the principle of "reuse, reduce, and recycle" which has became popular as a small thing for each person but potentially make big difference if we consistently do it together. To make significant impacts, we start it as early as we can: involving children to be a part of the movement.
To continue the discussion, some people believe that it is parents who should teach their children to recycle waste. This is reasonable because parents are the first ones to interact with their children, so that they have the early chance to educate them about the importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems on Earth. Also, house is the place where the waste from everyday life are produced, so it is easier to practice recycling waste at home.
However, other people have opinion that it is not too late to teach children why we need to recycle and how to practice it at schools. They think schools are more responsible because it has teachers as resources to deliver appropriate information about recycling, since not all parents have any educational background that make them capable to do the same thing.
In my opinion, they are no pros and cons need to be argued about who ones are more responsible to teach children to recycle waste, whether parents or schools. They can even collaborate to make the program more efficient.
